Destination Spotlight: Verbier

Destination spotlight: Verbier

It’s that time of year again. The Autumn leaves remind us quietly that winter is on the horizon, and it’s time to start thinking about your next luxury ski holiday. Many people return to the same ski chalet in the same ski resort every year. We know that warm and welcoming feeling of the familiar – the joy of seeing the friendly faces after a year apart.
Others are on the hunt for something new. You don’t need us to tell you that booking your ski holiday as soon as possible is essential. Now is the time, while there is still a good range of luxury chalets available. If you haven’t been to Verbier before, here are a few reasons we love this luxury ski resort in Switzerland.
Off piste skiing

Off-Piste Skiing

Verbier claims some of the best off-piste skiing in Europe. Behind the immaculate ski runs, powdery slopes carpet the wild valleys of Vallon d’Arbis. There are some fantastic heliski guides to take you to beautiful landing zones with unforgettable runs all to yourself. Trek to the summit of Mont Gele and take time to drink in the 360 views of the entire 4-Vallees ski region.

Make the most of the beautiful mountain scenery in Verbier with a wide range of adventure activities that go beyond skis and snowboards. Zipline on the 1.4km descent above the Torin glacier or learn to drive a team of huskies. True adrenaline-seekers can take to the air. Verbier has excellent skydiving facilities and paragliding from the summit of Les Ruinettes. From an altitude of 2,220 metres, you’ll have a birdseye view you will never forget.

There is no lack of exceptional restaurants in Verbier. For fondue, we love Chez Dany, which serves some of the best in town. The restaurant has a fantastic terrace with views of the surrounding mountains. For lunch, try Le Carrefour, located high above Verbier and serves a range of local dishes. If you’re after restaurants with Michelin stars, try La Table d’Adrien, Le Grenier or Eat-Hola Tapas Bar, which is the talk of the town and reopening this season.

Luxury Chalets

Whether you want a ski-in-ski-out chalet in Verbier or a boutique ski chalet perched in the hills above town, we will have what you’re looking for in our hand-picked collection of luxury chalets. Some of our chalets are fantastic for families with teenagers. Chalet Marmottiere has a large indoor swimming pool, a bowling alley and a 3D cinema to keep the kids entertained when you’re not on the slopes. For a ski holiday in the heart of the action, Chalet McKinley is the perfect base with easy access to the nightlife and festivities of Verbier.
